Petoskey Michigan Wedding | Angela & Ray | Root & Arrow Photography
From their wedding website: Ray and Angela first met during the 2016 Michigan football season (Go Blue), but interestingly enough, not initially through a Michigan connection.
Both had previously traveled to South Africa and were introduced by a mutual friend who lives in Cape Town (his name is Luthando). Luthando knew Angela was moving to Ann Arbor for graduate school, and thought Ray could help her get acclimated to the area. Thanks to Luthando, Ray and Angela were connected, but they never would have met if it weren't for Ray's sister Celine and Angela's friend Allie.
On a football Saturday, Angela was in downtown Ann Arbor having some pancakes and mimosas. Ray was at Celine's house helping her throw a really rad tailgate. Angela was new to the Michigan football fandom, so she just stuck with Allie, who had already completed her undergrad at Michigan and was well-versed in the art of Michigan football Saturdays. Allie took Angela to a tailgate close to Michigan Stadium, and that tailgate just so happened to be the one Ray was at. This story has some inklings of fate, don't you think?
Ray didn't hesitate to ask Angela on a date on that Saturday in September, and the rest is history.
